Gran Via's grand caravansarai of the meetings industry
Ibtm world is a calendar fixture for those serious about the global meetings industry and eager to meet old friends and make new ones in a well organised and trusted format. The show has evolved into a full-on experience, where you can try and test new event tech, talk to the industry innovators and learn first-hand about destinations and venues and what sets them apart from the competition. The show in 2019 was less frenetic than previous years, but exhibitors clearly on form and maximising their valuable time and investment. The changing tides of trends and emerging destinations are on full show and the Barcelona backdrop makes for exciting networking opportunities both inside and outside the show hall. IBTM WORLD is in dangee
The constant alterations in team & approach to the exhibitors and cutting costs on HB lead in the last years to a decrease in the exhibitors. Show appointment tool needs to be refreshed. Communication with exhibitors needs enhancement and more professional approach...Translate

Losing buyers quality
The show is losing in buyers quality and business opportunities. Being Barcelona based, while it is good to connect and interact with suppliers, it is very difficult for us to decline Spanish suppliers walks in and save our time for actual buyers. we have to go 2 ppl to have one attend suppliers and one to attend appointments. Difficult to solve and nobody's fault I agree but clearly I do not pay that much either to meet with Spanish suppliers. Overall too expensive for the ROI.Translate

Good chance to showcase our new products and reports
We had the chance to bring a wonderful group of Hosted Buyers from US and having the chance to impress them with a creative program in one of our landmark destinations (Barcelona) was very positive.Translate

Good organisation but still very expensive
It was my second participation and i must recon that it is a big investment for my company. Nevertheless, it is a great oportunity to meet all the MICE actors worldwide.Translate

Good for corporate events
The event seems to be targeted to corporate event bookings (hotels, small venues, conferences etc.), however I did not feel it addresses the needs of exhibitions. It covered a few tech solutions on the show floor. I did not feel it was a very strategic event, however I can see how it can be useful for people in the mice industry trying to consolidate their corporate bookings. It is very European.Translate

Good business, good fun!
Ibtm world is huge. The footfall is massive and pretty qualitative. Very good atmosphere. All the countries are represented. Highly recommend.Translate
