Average trade show booth costs in the USA
A standard rental exhibit typically starts around $13,000–$20,000 for a 10 × 10 inline booth. Larger footprints and island layouts cost more because they require additional structure, finishes and labour.
| Booth size | Typical format | Estimated exhibit cost |
|---|---|---|
| 10 × 10 | Inline | $13,000–$20,000 |
| 10 × 20 | Inline | $21,000–$32,000 |
| 20 × 20 | Island | $50,000–$76,500 |

2026 purchase cost reference
2026 US market guidance groups the cost of purchasing a new exhibit into three design and customization levels.
| Tier | Typical build | Purchase cost |
|---|---|---|
| Good | Simple modular build with standard materials and basic graphics | $55–$150 /sq ft |
| Better | More custom design, higher-quality materials and some integrated technology | $150–$225 /sq ft |
| Best | Fully custom design with premium materials, technology and complex structures | $225–$300+ /sq ft |

What changes the cost of a trade show booth?
Booth pricing is shaped by the exhibit itself and by event-specific services. These are the main variables to plan for.
Booth size and layout
More floor space increases materials and labour. Open island and peninsula layouts usually need more finished sides than inline booths.
Rental, purchase or reuse
Rental builds reduce long-term ownership needs, while purchasing can suit repeat programs. Reusing an existing structure may lower build costs.
Design complexity
Custom architecture, premium finishes, storage, meeting rooms and interactive elements increase design and fabrication time.
AV and hanging signs
LED walls, large displays, lighting and overhead signs add equipment, content, rigging and technical labour.
Event city and venue
Union rules, venue rates, contractor requirements and access windows vary by city and convention center.
Show services and logistics
Freight, drayage, installation, dismantling, electrical, internet, cleaning and material handling are often billed separately.
What is included in the estimate?
This first model uses anonymised proposal and pipeline data. It provides a planning range, not a binding quote.

Exhibit build
A size-based starting point adjusted for ownership, layout, design complexity and premium features.
02
Show services
A separate allowance for costs that vary significantly between events and venues.
03
Expert refinement
A booth builder can validate the assumptions and provide an event-specific proposal.
