Madrid was more adequate with content
Global Sme Finance Forum was a great opportunity for our organization to confirm the global trends when comparing with our activities in Serbia regarding access to finance for SMEs. Beside this, the Topicus study tour was amazing, definitely the highlight of the entire conference.Translate

Well organised and useful
The event was extremely well organised. The networking app was very good and overall as a Fintech startup, we were able to connect with a lot of banks and got to know where they stand in terms of banks and Fintech partnerships.Translate

Organized well, lots of business opportunities
I was a moderator in the Supply Chain Finance session with PUMA, Nedcargo and Centrifuge. There were not enough seats for all the people who wanted to attend the session. This shows to me that SCF is a very relevant theme amongst participants of this forum. The session allowed me to connect with lots of interesting people. Furthermore, the organization was very good.Translate

The forum brings together a very diverse audience in terms of businesses, geographies and backgrounds. It provides a great opportunity to network and exchange ideas. I think it would be better if the forum took place closer to the city center (the forum venue was quite far off both in Madrid and Amsterdam) as many people prefer staying in the city and therefore tend to skip evening events and sessions.Translate

A global perspective
The diversity at this conference is what keeps it so engaging. There is always someone new, interesting and insightful to talk to. The conference is scheduled very well, where networking and panel discussion sessions are given equal importance, giving attendees enough time to assimilate information. Two thumbs up to the organisers!Translate

Funding Circle Study visit
My attendance at SMEFF19 was mainly related to presenting and introducing Q-Lana Inc. with its own product Q-Lana - a Knowledge-based SME lending platform for the banking and similar financial sector, which was one of the exhibitors at the Marketplace. Therefore, I did not follow the plenary sessions and workshops at the Forum. Nevertheless, I had the opportunity to visit the Funding Circle on the third event day, which is a start-up company that has developed a platform for linking and matching MSMEs in need for loans from one side and investors, private and legal entities willing to lend to specific projects, from the other side. Managers from the Funding Circle explained their business model, told the story of how they started and managed in growing their business. The company was founded in the UK, then spread to the USA, Germany and finally the Netherlands. It is about technology innovation in lending process, dealing through the platform with application of risk management algorithms in assessment, but with human evaluation as well. So, the assessment process is doubled, meaning the machine assessment is checked and eventually corrected by people. What is evident is that dema... Show moreTranslate
