SIGGRAPH 2026

It was my first time at SIGGRAPH and it was in L.A. in 2019. It was also the first time the parallel mini-convention day "The Pipeline Conference" (TPC) was running, on Sunday. I was lucky enough to b...e invited to speak there (at TPC) in a panel and then at Siggraph the next day in a BoF event. Both events, although extremely different in size, goals and atmosphere were so great and I felt so honored and lucky to be visiting and speaking in them. Siggraph, especially, being such a mythical, enormous, hyper-interesting and rich event, left me with the impression I could (should!?) have duplicated myself dozens of times to be able to attend all the wonderful events that could inspire and teach me about the current and future state of our industries. And there is also so much to get from the people one meets there. Something that cannot be matched by reading and watching recorded Siggraph events afterwards... For now on, I feel like I need to be part of every other Siggraph conventions to come !Mehr lesen

Didn’t have a great first impression from staff. Way to many hoops to jump over to just get a badge. If you forget your badge for entry, then they require you to pay again. Great event to meet current and potential customers in that use video cards in different vertical business segments.

I came to Siggraph as an exhibitor this year for Unity technologies. It was definitely a biz-dev trip, so I didn’t attend as many papers and panels as in previous years. The gallery was great, the VR ...lounge contents were fantastic, real-time Live was incredible again but the emerging technologies seemed a little light this year. The student volunteers were very helpful and seemed knowledgeable. I feel that with the plethora of other shows like FMX, THU, gdc, Spark, and others the value of Siggraph for software and hardware vendors has been split amongst other opportunities. I attended the business symposium, and was able to get a much broad form of knowledge on how new technologies affect the industry in all of its branches, from automobile to medical, I had the opportu...nity to interact and network with people from the top companies like, Bmw, Verizon, hp, to name a few. The show on the floor gives you an opportunity to see how other cultures from different parts of the world are coming up with new advanced ways on how AR, VE, and AI is revolutionizing the culture itself. SIGGRAPH has always been a great place for networking and good venue to meet new prospects. The downside is the amount of students that are more interested on getting goods than to learn.

SIGGRAPH has always been a networking bonanza, and this year was as good as ever. VR /AR / XR has been around for a very long time, but it was good to see that maybe, just possibly, it won't go the wa...y of 3D TV. The last time I attended in 2003 it seemed as tho there were far more classes, sessions, etc, that helped me become a better artist. I was was disappointed this year as there really didn't seem to be as much like that unless you're into coding and technical areas. Saw a lot of what artists are doing with that tech, but not much at all for me as a modeler. Additionally the app was extremely aggravating in that it buried sessions under overall headings. Also a lot of titles were very misleading, e.g. "Color Fundamentals". While the presenter was wonderful, that was not fundamental to anyone except folks with undergrads in color theory or data reconstruction. Not fundamental to your average 3D nerd at all. Overall I had a great time, tho, and would highly recommend someone attend SIGGRAPH.Mehr lesen

First time at SIGGRAPH and really enjoyed it, Real Time live was fantastic and loved the works in Emerging Tech, hopefully next year will contribute and exhibit
