Something was definitely wrong
I went to the expo on Friday and Saturday and it was almost completely empty! I saw more vendors walking around then customers, not to mention the $10 entrance fee which was ridiculous! Why should someone have to pay to enter somewhere to spend money?? The only way I even found out this was happening was because I happened to be driving by the area on Friday afternoon and thought it would be neat to check out. I saw no indication of where and when it was, the organizers failed to provide a list of vendors on their social media, and overall felt like a giant waste of time. From what I gathered, many of the vendors felt they were ripped off too and said they won’t be coming back again to this expo. That says something about the competency of whoever is in charge.

Small Businesses Beware!
The 2022 Vancity Women's Expo was a complete failure. They charge an arm and a leg for vendor fees which can be very hard for startup small businesses to stomach with the expectation of lots of foot traffic, exposure and hopefully sales. Unfortunately, the only people who came out ahead financially would be the organizers. The vast majority of the lacklustre foot traffic was bored vendors walking around a ghost town of an Expo. There are vendors from this year and previous years whom have left honest negative reviews about the poor attendance of these events on the corresponding Facebook Page but seeing as how the organizer is in control of that page, those reviews have been turned off. If you are a small business looking at booking a booth at either the Vancity Women's Expo or the Fraser Valley Women's Expo, don't expect to make a return on your "investment". There simply isn't enough traffic at these events to warrant a small business to profit and to feel properly compensated for their time managing their booth. Stay far away from these Expos.

Such a great event! Lots of variety in vendors and we loved all the samples! Can't wait to go again!
I found so many great new companies just starting out. I love that the event emphasizes small local businesses, so much fun every year!
