The IWCS Cable & Connectivity Industry Forum is recognized around the world as the premier technology event for the exchange of information about product, material, and process innovation for cabling and connectivity solutions. Taking place Monday, October 14 through Thursday, October 17 at the Rhode Island Convention Center in Providence, this robust event features the traditional elements of the IWCS Forum plus additional new components that highlight trending developments in sustainability, energy transition, and broadband infrastructure. IWCS would like to draw attention to the new Monday–Thursday schedule format, which can be previewed in the Preliminary Event Program at iwcs.org/202...4-forum. The updated schedule begins Monday with Professional Development Courses, followed by the Plenary Luncheon featuring a keynote address, and the first three Technical Sessions. Day one concludes with “an Eerie Evening” reception which features refreshments and social networking. Attendees should prepare for an unforgettable Edgar Allan “PoE” inspired reception, which is a great conclusion to the Power Over Ethernet (PoE) topic presented during Technical Session 2 earlier in the day. The Executive Session, which addresses important issues facing the industry, happens Tuesday morning (day two of the program). This session is designed for the general management of the wire and cable producing companies and their suppliers. The cornerstone of the IWCS Cable & Connectivity Industry Forum is the Technical Symposium, which begins Monday afternoon. More than 85 Technical Papers will be presented in the following sessions, which run concurrent on Monday, Wednesday, and Thursday. Select poster papers will be displayed during the Poster Session on Tuesday afternoon. 1. Codes and Standards 2. Design, Testing, and Application for Copper Ethernet, PoE, and Energy Cables 3. Advancements in Microduct Cable Technology 4. Materials and Additives - Part 1 5. Materials and Additives - Part 2 6. Data Center and Edge Applications 7. Material and Design for Optical Fiber Cable 8. Specialty Applications and Fiber Modeling 9. Rural Broadband and Cable Design 10. Cable Sustainability and Recycling 11. Emerging Trends in Optical Connectivity 12. Optical Fiber Cable Manufacturing 13. Outdoor Power Delivery and Utility Applications New this year, IWCS is excited to host the first, of what they hope to be many, supplementary breakout program that fosters discussion on broad trends critical to global connectivity. Taking place on Wednesday, the “Navigating the Energy Transition Smart Grid and Broadband Connectivity” program will feature topics such as: • 5G Deployment, Network & Power Infrastructure • Energy Transition, Storage & Distribution of Power • Smart Grid of the Future • Materials Supporting the Energy Transition – Copper, Aluminum, Fiber • Policy and Regulations The Supplier Exhibition™ continues its two-day program, providing plenty of opportunity and incentive for all attendees to visit with premier suppliers from around the world. Attendees will have increased opportunities to visit with supply chain leaders during this year’s event as a result of a new schedule structure and lunch concessions being added to the exhibition floor. More than 80 industry-leading suppliers will demonstrate cutting-edge technologies in cable and connectivity products, processes, and applications—while select companies will conduct a Supplier Spotlight Presentation. A list of exhibitors can be viewed on the IWCS website. Visit iwcs.org for the most up-to-date event information and registration instructions. Register before August 1 to save big by taking advantage of discounted “summer special” rates or by September 15 for “advanced” discounted rates. After September 15, regular priced admission will be available online and on-site at the event. Read more
