IFMA was an amazing opportunity for me and my fellow classmates that attend Wentworth Institute of Technology in Boston, MA. We were not scholarship recipients but fundraised and sponsored ourselves.... It was neat to learn about different industry technology and techniques that are not taught in school. Connecting with so many industry professionals at one event is extremely valuable to me and my company.

Worthwhile opportunity to connect with like minded people from the industry. The value for myself was to meet friends from different chapters and get insights on how FM works in US, as they seem to be... setting the trends. One should not forget that FM is a local business and all inputs/trends/lessons learned/experiences should be considered, aggregated and composed into best practises. Overall a great experience. As a IFMA Buck Fisher scholarship recipient and first-time attendee at the IFMA World Workplace Conference, I found the event awesome for students and young professionals looking to start their FM car...eers. I recommend it for everyone who are passionate about FM to participate and have definitely some great inputs and opportunities to take with them. Voir plus

The main challenge at IFMA was finding the courses and sessions. They were three floors upstairs or in the basement. My main issues with the sessions were that they were first come, first served. If... you were in one session and wanted another popular session, you weren’t going to get a seat. Also, I typically stand in the back of the room rather than sit all day. The room guards enforced a no standing order for the venue. I paid all that money, scheduled all those sessions, and didn’t get to attend one course or session. What a rip off. Voir plus

IFMA World Workplace is one of the best venues to see and hear what is going on across the industry. I would like to see more sessions on leadership, change and elevating the role of the FM. The conte...nt is hit or miss. It is hard to know by course descriptions the quality of the presenter or content. The conference format is not evolving with the need to have more conversations and build stronger networks. The networking is random and social - not very many intentional opportunities to meet someone with common challenges or interests. Voir plus

IFMA tradeshow is as a great opportunity to gather background on some potential vendors and align on products or services that will compliment our facility operations. There never seems to be enough t...ime so dedicating at least an hour to circulate the booths is always rewarding and beneficial for our team for sure! Voir plus
