Wind for Goods 2025

Overview

On 1 and 2 June 2023, the Nantes Saint-Nazaire Développement Agency, with its partners*, is hosting the second international Wind for Goods summit dedicated to wind-powered maritime transport. The challenges of the ecological transition require powerful responses, and industry is a major driver of innovation, with its ability to design and develop large-scale solutions. Carbon-free maritime transport and marine energy are some of the sectors of excellence in Nantes and Saint-Nazaire. This year's event will be an opportunity to discuss the key national and international issues for the sector, and also to meet the actors of this booming ecosystem. On the agenda: boat tours and demonstrations, ...exhibits of prototypes and sails, panel discussions, conferences and business meetings. The summit will be held over two days, in order to welcome twice as many exhibitors and visitors. The sector's leading companies will be present at the event, organized by the Nantes Saint-Nazaire Développement Agency. While the 2021 event featured prototypes and demonstrators, this year's summit will showcase the achievements with the first wind-propelled boats and innovative technologies at sea, including the Canopée, the first sailing cargo ship that will transport the Ariane 6 rocket. Other businesses present will include Chantiers de l'Atlantique (Solidsail), Airseas, Neoline, Wisamo, Farwind, Zéphyr & Borée, and TOWT. Conferences will be held to discuss the key issues involved in wind-powered shipping. The international actors present will also be able to describe the large-scale responses they are designing to meet the challenges of the ecological transition.
