The 12th edition of AMI's international Agricultural Film conference will take place on 18-20 November 2019 at the Hilton Hotel, Barcelona, Spain. The three-day programme will bring together agricultural and horticultural cover specifiers, raw material and film manufacturers, professional researchers and educational institutions, cooperatives, growers and associations and public and private bodies involved in agriculture to provide a forum and a networking platform with professionals active in this challenging industry and global food supply in general. Over the last 60 years, agricultural production and productivity have increased dramatically, and plastic agricultural films for silag...e, mulch and greenhouses have contributed significantly to this development. The use of plastic films has been remarkable in the horticultural industry, as well as in the preservation and improvement of silage quality and has contributed to the continuous increase of crop and milk yields. Plastic films have also enabled the growth of the crop in terms of growing season and location through the use of mulch and greenhouse protective films. Plasticulture offers viable solutions to help achieve the ambitious goals of modern agriculture. Plastic films are part of the global food supply solution and will play an even greater role as public funds are released to encourage agriculture in developing regions and / or facing climate change.
